I LOVE the Springtime. It is one of my absolute favorite times of the year. It reminds me of God’s faithfulness, how He brings things from death to life, how creative He is in the beauty of all He has made, and how His mercies for me are new each morning. The Spring also never fails to catch me off guard with how busy things can get. Here’s a list of some of the things we’ve done so far this year at Trek-X...

MORNING DEVO’S
Each morning, Monday-Friday, we have been combing through the book of Romans & Ephesians this
year,exegetically, discovering the doctrines & theology of the New Testament. During this time we
spend lots of time reading the Word, praying, and memorizing Scripture. Each student memorizes
100 key passages each year, and a book of the Bible during their 4-year journey. On Friday’s, we
quiz each other on our scripture memory and pray for the 193 countries of the world.

CORE TRAINING
The second hour of each morning, Monday - Friday, we focus on our core training. So far we have
studied “Personal Evangelism”, “How to Share Your Faith”; the doctrines of Salvation, Atonement,
and Eternal Security; Church-Planting Movements & World Geography, and will finish with a series
on Servant Leadership.

JANUARY RETREAT
We slip away at least 4 times a year to relax, camp, hike, etc while reflecting on all that Christ is
doing in us. In January, we piled up in a cabin about an hour away and just chilled. It was a much
needed time of rest, scrabble wars, home cooked food, and time alone with the Lord & each other,
and a chance to recharge.

CONCLAVE
Several students attended the Conclave Event in Chattanooga, TN during a weekend in February to
help inform student pastors and youth leaders about Trek-X.

DISCIPLE NOW WEEKENDS
The students have also traveled to Huntsville, AL (Whitesburg BC; student pastor is Steven Dunne) and
Lavaca, AR (FBC; student pastor is JP Sutmiller) to serve as small group leaders, and break out
session leaders.

MISSION TRIPS
Our Trek-Xers have led trips to Atlanta, and Puerto Rico twice this Spring. It was a great learning
experience and preparation for this summer.

We will finish the Spring semester of Trek-X in a few weeks as we make final preparations for their summer assignments. We will have students living in the DR, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico this summer. They will facilitate all the youth groups coming to serve. I couldn’t be more proud of our students and how God is shaping them into godly men & women of faith who will change the course of their generation with the Gospel.
